Dr. Melincavage earned a Diploma in Nursing from The Reading Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kutztown University, a Master of Science in Nursing in the adult health nurse practitioner specialty from Bloomsburg University, and a Doctor of Education with a major in adult education from The Pennsylvania State University.
Her nurse educator career includes teaching in graduate, baccalaureate, and diploma nursing programs. She has practiced nursing in the areas of neurosurgery and cardiac care. Currently, she practices as a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) in acute and long-term care settings.
She is certified as a CRNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a nurse educator by the National League for Nursing. She is a member of several nursing organizations - Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Theta Rho chapter, the Pennsylvania League for Nursing Area 2 where she serves on the Board, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and is a life member of The Reading Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and the Penn State Alumni Association.
She has presented scholarly work at international, national, and local nursing and academic conferences and has published in professional nursing and education journals. Her research interests include anxiety in student nurses in the clinical setting.
