ESS vs SourcePoint Login:
SRU credentials and PASSHE credentials are two separate accounts.
Both accounts expire every 90 days.
You can maintain both by using the self service tools for each account.
The following are instructions for logging into ESS and SourcePoint.
ESS – uses your SRU credentials.
- In a web browser enter portal.passhe.edu
- In the dropdown select Slippery Rock University.
- Login with your SRU email address and password.
SourcePoint – uses your PASSHE credentials. Your username is your full SRU email address. Your password is separate from your SRU password, meaning your password for SourcePoint could be different from your SRU password. Your SourcePoint password expires every 90 days and cannot be repeated. We recommend when you change your SRU password, that you also change your PASSHE password, to keep them on the same schedule. Additionally, you should setup your Self-Service Portal security information, instructions are below.

To enter purchase requestions, access the SourcePoint System through the ESS portal and select the SourcePoint tab, and select "Guided Buying".
Step 1: Complete the Self-Service Enrollment - The first time you access ESS for SourcePoint, you should complete the Self-Service Enrollment, this will allow you to maintain your PASSHE account in the future. This password expires every 90 days, it is NOT the same as your SRU password and cannot be repeated.
- You can access the ‘Account Self-Service Portal’ directly here OR
- After logging into ESS, on the right side of the Home tab, your PASSHE Account Status is displayed with your password expiration AND a link to the ‘Account Self-Service Portal’
- Select the ‘Account Self-Service Portal’
- Login with your full SRU email address and your PASSHE password
- Complete security questions and select a pin
If you do not have the PASSHE Self-Service tool configured, and you do not know your password, you can request assistance at techsupport.sru.edu and selecting User Accounts>Account Login Assistance>PASSHE Account From the Service Catalog.
Step 2: SourcePoint Login
Log into ESS with your SRU user name and SRU password, select Slippery Rock University from the drop down menu at passhe.edu
- Select the SourcePoint tab
- Click on the appropriate link
- If you are prompted to log in, you must use your PASSHE user name (last@sru.edu) and PASSHE password
If you do not know your PASSHE password or it has expired, and you DID complete the Self-Service enrollment in Step 1, you will need to reset your PASSHE password using the following instructions. The password reset link is available at the main PASSHE login page (portal.passhe.edu).
Reset your PASSHE password with Self-Service from Step 1 – Requires you to be enrolled in Self-Service.
- Click on ‘Password Reset’ at the top of the PASSHE login page and then select Slippery Rock University
- Select ‘Reset Password’ in the lower half of the page
- Enter your full SRU email address and click on Continue
- Answer your security questions and PIN then enter the displayed Captcha and click on continue
