The Rocket places third in ACP 'Best in Show' competition

The Rocket, the independent student-run newspaper at Slippery Rock University, was recognized in the Associated Collegiate Press' "Best of Show" competition at the 2019 Fall National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C.

In the category of newspapers at four-year institutions that publish less than weekly, The Rocket placed third out of 10 submissions. The Rocket staff submitted its LGBTQ+ History Month issue for the competition. Click here to view the issue.

Publications and broadcast teams with students in attendance at the ACP convention are eligible to enter the "Best in Show" competition.
