SRU clinical and mental health counseling program receives accreditation

Slippery Rock University's Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling program received accreditation this July from the board of directors of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.

Additionally, the board approved retroactive recognition of graduates from the clinical mental health counseling specialty area back to May 1, 2019.

SRU’s clinical mental health counseling program leads to licensure eligibility as a Professional Counselor. The counseling degree program prepares students to work in a variety of behavioral health settings including community mental health agencies, residential treatment, hospitals and independent practices.
