Camp ROCK is an extended school year program for youths ages 12-21 with autism spectrum disorder that is hosted by Slippery Rock University and the Butler County Family YMCA. About a dozen campers are attending Camp ROCK, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from June 11 to July 2, at SRU's Storm Harbor Equestrian Center. The camp provides equine-assisted therapeutic recreation and other activities promoting health, including horseback riding, archery, expressive art and horticulture among its variety of activities. Thirteen SRU students from the recreational therapy and music therapy programs volunteered as mentors for the campers.
