Rock Pantry+
Food insecurity is the lack of consistent access to the amount of food one needs to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. Nationally, 1 in 3 college students face food insecurity. Rock Pantry+ is Slippery Rock University’s food pantry, providing supplementary food and resources to students experiencing food insecurity on campus. All active SRU students are eligible to utilize Rock Pantry+.
Our mission is to reduce hunger for SRU students and to provide access to a high-quality variety of food options, tools for meal preparation, and toiletries at no cost.

013 Patterson Hall, Slippery Rock University
Rock Pantry+, located at 013 Patterson Hall (basement level), offers a shopping-style experience for students. Rock Pantry+ features non-perishable foods, basic toiletries, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
Rock Pantry+ is a collaborative project between SGA and Student Support, receiving funding from both groups in addition to support from community donations and volunteers. Our team who executes Rock Pantry+’s day-to-day operations consists of staff from Student Support, graduate-level interns, and undergraduate food pantry assistants.
Slippery Rock University is proud to be recognized as a PA Hunger-Free+ campus. This designation is given to institutions of higher education that provide initiatives for increasing access to food through meal-sharing programs, facilitating community partnerships, and creating of student-centered programming in addition to meeting other criteria.
