Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

The list below provides information about scholarship opportunities for students with disabilities. While this list is not all-encompassing, we hope it provides students with a starting point for seeking disability-related scholarships. Students are also encouraged to explore funding options through state-funded vocational rehabilitation offices (in Pennsylvania, students can contact the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation). Remember, all students should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for need-based grants, loans and student employment.

Scholarships for Students with Cystic Fibrosis

Boomer Esiason Foundation Scholarship Program

This foundation provides financial assistance to students in the cystic fibrosis community who are pursuing higher education opportunities. Visit the Esiason Scholarship website to view available scholarships.

Elizabeth Nash Foundation Scholarship

Scholarships for Students with Hearing Impairments

Sertoma's Scholarship for the Hard of Hearing or Deaf

This scholarship is for full-time students who are hard of hearing or deaf. Students must be pursuing a bachelor's degree and have a minimum 40dB bilateral hearing loss as evidenced on an audiogram from a hearing health professional. Sertoma's Scholarship for the Hard of Hearing or Deaf

Scholarships for Students with Visual Impairments

American Council of the Blind (ACB) Scholarship Program

The application opens November 1st, and the deadline is February 14th. Vist the ACB scholarship page for more information and to apply.

The Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) Scholarship Program

These scholarships are awarded to spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of veterans who are blind to assist them with their higher education tuition. Annual scholarship details are announced in December of each year. Visit the BVA scholarship page for more information and to apply.

The Christian Record Services - Anne Lowe Scholarship

This scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students with legal blindness. Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. Citizen.

Lighthouse Guild Scholarships

Lighthouse Guild awards scholarships to students who are legally blind who are newly transitioning to college or graduate education. The deadline to apply is March 31st. Visit the Lighthouse Guild scholarship page for more information.
