What about exploring kinesthetic learning with STEM content? The Creative Movement Endorsement program at Slippery Rock University will allow you to do just that. SRU is the only university in Pennsylvania to offer this opportunity to students and teachers seeking continuing education credits.
The Creative Movement Endorsement program is open to currently enrolled degree-seeking education majors and teachers seeking continuing education credits. Education majors at SRU, regardless of degree type, are eligible to add the Creative Movement Endorsement to their education degree upon completing the 12 credit hour certification requirements. By participating in this program, you will have the opportunity to enhance your classroom instruction and develop creative ways to address the learning needs of students. Through instruction and application, you’ll learn how to integrate movement styles, creative movement concepts, and dance composition as a strategy for learning, expanding physical activity and integrating wellness concepts. SRU’s nationally ranked Department of Dance is excited to offer this program to education majors. Students will have the opportunity to develop lesson plans specifically geared toward arts in education programming. Application of lesson plans and teaching demonstrations occur within the course. We encourage all education majors who have an interest in creative movement or performing arts to consider adding the creative movement endorsement to their teaching credentials.
