Susan Lubinski, Program Coordinator

Dr. Susan Lubinski obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Youngstown State University with a major in accounting and minors in economics and management. She attended Grove City College where she obtained her Masters in Accounting and she received her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law.

She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a lawyer licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

She worked for a number of years in the City of Pittsburgh as a Certified Public Accountant, lawyer, and business consultant for start-up companies. She started Hunter Associates for the former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. and Chairman Emeritus of Parker/Hunter, David Hunter. She served as Vice President of his company directing compliance and all business operations.

Dr. Lubinski wrote both the programs and curriculum for the Homeland Security and Corporate Security degrees.

Melissa Berdell

Dr. Melissa Berdell received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. She then received a Master of Science in Administration of Criminal Justice from Point Park University. She attended Duquesne University where she received a Doctor of Healthcare Ethics. Dr. Berdell is a Certified Fraud Examiner and an Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator.

Dr. Berdell is the Director of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse, Payment Integrity at Gateway Health Plan Inc. where she functions as the lead for fraud, waste, and abuse activities and executes the Anti-Fraud Plan for Gateway Health Plan, Inc. She is also responsible for directing progressive audits, investigations, and recovery activities for the Special Investigations Unit.

Kevin A. Cassidy

Mr. Cassidy holds a M.A. in Criminal Justice and Public Administration and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is the Former Vice President of Global Security for Thomson Reuters and Quality Protection Services Consultant.

He served as John Jay’s Director of Public Safety and Risk Management and he served as the Director of Service Employees International in New York City. Mr. Cassidy also worked for Summit Security as Vice President of Investigations.

Mr. Cassidy also lectures on the professional circuit for Fortune 500 companies in all phases of security management and business continuity. Mr. Cassidy’s expertise is in protection management and security management.

Jennifer Martin

Ms. Martin received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Louisiana and her master’s degree from the University of Maryland. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education, Educational Leadership and Administration with a concentration in Higher Education at Slippery Rock University. She has served in the United States Army just under 32 years, 10 years in the Army National Guard and 22 years as an active-duty officer.

Bret Perchaluk

Mr. Bret Perchaluk graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law at Rider University and minored in sociology. He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. As an Intelligence Specialist with the United States Coast Guard, Mr. Perchaluk specializes in HUMINT operations and targeting to initiate, plan, coordinate and execute complex intelligence operations across the full spectrum of disciplines. Mr. Perchaluk works in the intelligence industry and enjoys utilizing real world experience in conventional and special operations campaigns coupled with formal education to enhance student experiences in academia.

Bret M. Rogowitz

Mr. Rogowitz graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. He then obtained his Masters of Science in Technology Training & Development from Eastern Illinois University. He also has multiple certifications. He is the Enrollment Recruiting Officer for Slippery Rock Univesity's Department of Military Science.

Bret has over 30 years leadership experience with 20 years active military service in the U.S. Army and then another 13 years as a government employee. Bret has been an active member of the SRU community and faculty since 2013 teaching classes for both Military Science and Leadership, advising and mentoring students, and collectively working with multiple departments and staff across campus.

His areas of expertise are Leadership, Organizational Culture and Development, and Planning/Decision Making.

Sam Rosenberg

Mr. Rosenberg graduated with a Bachelor of Arts n History and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps where he was a close protection specialist for some of the world’s highest provide individuals including heads-of-states, dignitaries, celebrities, and executives. After serving our county he served in a number of capacities in the executive protection industry. He then started his own business where he provides full spectrum self-defense, defensive firearm, and critical incident response training for individuals, schools and workplaces nationwide. He also provides enterprise risk management, training, and executive protection services for clients globally. He is the author of several books pertaining to personal protection and the patent designer of protective equipment.

Randy Rovesti

Mr. Rovesti graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science in Information Security Technology with a specialization in information security. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Lehigh University. He currently is employed as an Engineering Manager with the Naval Nuclear Laboratory where he leads a team of cleared defense contractor IT professionals and electrical engineers responsible for the enterprise’s physical and cyber security systems. He was formerly employed as a Systems Engineer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he helped implement their electronic health record system.

William Spencer

Dr. Spencer is currently employed as the Deputy Associate Director of Operations and Preparedness for the District of Columbia’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. He received his Ph.D. in Administration and Leadership Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where his concentration was Non-profit and Government Sector Organizational Leadership and Program Evaluation. His dissertation focus was on Emergency Management and Higher Education. He obtained a M.A. in Homeland Security from American Military University, and his concentration was Public Administration. His master thesis was on Assessments as a Tool in Planning 8/10. He also received a M.A. in Emergency Management and Disaster Response from American Military University, with a concentration in Crisis Management. His master thesis was on Strategic Planning for Grants Management 07/09.

Paul Webster

Mr. Paul Webster graduated from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science degree in Homeland Security Emergency Management and Public Health from Colorado Technical University. He is on active duty serving as the Operations Superintendent and Emergency Management Specialist. He is responsible for maintaining facility operations and the installation preparedness for, response to and recovery from all-hazards to include Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear incidents, major accidents, natural disasters, and terrorist use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. He holds a Pennsylvania Class A Water Treatment Operator License and has worked in the Water and Wastewater Sector of our Nation’s Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources for over 16 years. He is certified in a variety of Federal Emergency Management Training programs.

Brian Wisneski

Dr. Wisneski, CPP obtained his Ed. D from Creighton University in Interdisciplinary Studies. Since 1987, he has worked for Pfizer Inc. first serving as a Manager of Security Building and Grounds, then as Senior Manager/Team Security for Security Services, and currently as Director of Physical Risk Mitigation. His duties include leading regional physical security programs for manufacturing, distribution, research, and commercial locations in North America. He manages the lead team responsible for physical security and technology, and conducts assessments and higher-level investigations into misconduct, theft, and threats to Pfizer Incorporated and its resources worldwide.

He is an active member of ASIS International and ASIS Western Michigan Chapter.
