Petray to present about linguistic discrimination, Dec. 16

Marnie Jo Petray, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of modern languages and cultures, will present as part of the Academic Language Experts' Publication Success Interview Series, 1:30 p.m., Dec. 16.
Petray’s live, virtual presentation, titled “Overcoming Linguistic Bias Against Non-native English Speaking Scholars in Academic Publication,” is about the linguistic discrimination that multilingual scholars face and how scholars can work together to overcome it. She will reference research from the book, “Linguistic Discrimination in U.S. Higher Education,” that she co-edited with Gail Clements, instructor of linguistics at Duke University, who is co-presenting with Petray.
