David Skeele, a Slippery Rock University professor of theatre, will perform in Hobnob Theatre's production of "A Vaudeville Christmas Carol Extravaganza," for three shows, Dec. 14-16 at Butler County Community College's Succop Theater.

Loosely based on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol," Skeele will play the role C.D. Hawtry, a vaudeville company manager who is forced by the spirits of Christmas to confront his selfishness and greed as he prepares to mount a production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."

Hobnob Theatre is nonprofit organization based in Butler that was established in 2012 to engage and enrich the community with a dynamic array of theater by producing popular and forgotten classic plays, modern plays of exceptional merit, extraordinary musicals, original works and theater for young audiences.

The Dec. 14 and 15 shows start at 6:30 p.m. and the Dec. 16 begins at 2:30 p.m.
