SRU students win competition and present research at American College of Sports Medicine conference

Three Slippery Rock University students won the College Bowl competition hosted by the American College of Sports Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter at the chapter’s conference, Nov. 2, in Lancaster.
Emma Venatta, a junior exercise science major from Cabot; Jaden Boyle, senior exercise science major from New Wilmington; and Justin Fagley, a senior exercise science major from Oil City, competed in a Jeopardy!-style quiz bowl against teams from other universities. The trio will now advance to represent SRU at the national ACSM meeting in May 2025, in Atlanta.
Additionally, Accalia Decker, an SRU doctoral student in physical therapy and a 2024 graduate with a degree in exercise science, presented her research piece titled, "A Comparative Biomechanical Analysis of the Farmer's and Zercher Carry Exercises."
A total of 17 SRU students attended the conference, along with SRU Exercise Science faculty members Jeremy Dicus, Maureen Walsh and Mingchia Yeh
