The Rocket wins ACP Best of Show Award

The Rocket, the independent, student-run newspaper at Slippery Rock University, won first place in the 2020 Associated Collegiate Press Best of Show Awards at this year’s Fall National College Media Convention, which was conducted virtually.

The Rocket was recognized for its submission of its Sept. 25, 2020, print edition, as it captured first place in the category for newspapers from four-year institutions that publish less than weekly.

ACP’s Best of Show competitions honor both organizational and individual work among collegiate media who register for the convention and enter the competition. The ACP is a national community of collegiate journalists and collegiate-journalism advisers.
