Van Bremen becomes certified health care financial professional
Nov. 11, 2020
Erin Van Bremen, a Slippery Rock University graduate student majoring in health information management from Aldan, was recently declared a certified health care financial professional by the Healthcare Financial Management Association board of directors.
The CHFP is offered by HFMA to certify financial professionals, clinical and nonclinical leaders, payers or anyone “whose jobs requires a deep understanding of the new financial realities of health care.” Van Bremen fulfilled the first phase of the certification through the learning outcomes of her SRU class, Financial Management for Healthcare Professionals, before taking and passing an HFMA exam to complete the second phase requirement.
Van Bremen is the first student in SRU’s health information management master’s program to achieve CHFP certification in the first semester of starting the program.
