Marnie Jo Petray, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of modern languages and cultures, is the lead author of an article published in a recent issue of the International Journal of Curriculum and Instruction, a peer-reviewed journal for intercultural communication.
Petray’s article is titled “Foundations of linguistics and identity in L2 teaching and learning: Agency through linguistic enrichment, differentiated instruction and teacher identity.” The article was co-authored with Rebecca Shapiro, associated professor of English at the New York City College of Technology, City University of New York; and Gladys Vega, associate professor of languages and cultures at William Paterson University. Petray and her co-authors present theoretical constructs for successfully teaching English as a second language and acquisition.
