Hall-Wirth and Thomas earn Campus Compact community engagement credential

Jessica Hall-Wirth, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of special education, and Becky Thomas, an SRU associate professor of parks, conversation and resource management, recently earned the Community Engagement Fundamentals Certification from Campus Compact after participating in a community engagement professionals community of practice.

To earn the certification, Hall-Wirth and Thomas showcased their ability to summarize the foundations of the field and the scope of community-engaged work by submitting a community engagement curriculum vitae, annotated artifacts and reflective writings.

Campus Compact is an organization that provides civic and community engagement professionals with opportunities to earn formal recognition for the knowledge and skills they develop throughout their careers.
