Nick Artman, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of communication, recently wrote an article that was published in Explorations in Media Ecology, the peer-reviewed journal of the Media Ecology Association.
Artman’s article is titled “Applying the cognitive theory of multimedia learning: Using the ADDIE model to enhance instructional video.” He expands on the theory that people retain more knowledge from words and pictures than words alone by applying the ADDIE model, a basic instructional design model that stands for analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. His article serves as an instructional guide for faculty who wish to begin recording or strengthening their current instructional videos.
