Payne serves as movement director of ‘Obi Mbu’ dance film

Ursula Payne, a Slippery Rock University professor of dance, was the movement director of a recently released dance film, “Obi Mbu (The Primordial House): An Igbo Creation Myth,” directed by Mikael Owunna and Marques Redd.
The 30-minute film was made possible with the support of the Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh Grants Program, a partnership of The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments. The film is being screened at ClampArt in New York City, now through Oct. 30; at the Iris Project in Los Angeles, Nov. 6-30; and at CAM Raleigh in Raleigh, North Carolina, Nov. 14.
