Metcalf receives international bassoon fellowship

Abby Metcalf, a Slippery Rock University senior music therapy major from Denver, was selected for the 2021 The Musik Link’s Infinite Sounds International Bassoon Fellowship. Metcalf was chosen because of her role in the development of outreach programs in the community to introduce children and adults to the bassoon.

As part of her fellowship, Metcalf receives $200 to help fund an outreach performance in her community. Metcalf’s bassoon recital is 2 p.m., Oct. 17, at the Swope Music Hall. 

The Musik Link is an international bassoon group dedicated to fostering education and connection among bassoonists. The group is based out of New Zealand and the Infinite Sounds Fellowship is awarded to an outstanding bassoon student who plays an active part in building connections within their community.
