Oct. 1, 2020
Yvonne Eaton-Stull, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of public health and social work, recently wrote a book titled “Animal-Assisted Crisis Response” that was published by National Association of Social Workers Press.
Eaton-Stull’s book is the first of its kind to provide a resource for social workers using specialized canine intervention to help individuals affected by disasters and crises. Eaton-Stull uses case studies sourced from certified crisis dog handlers to demonstrate the challenges and opportunities of using AACR, and explains the intersection of psychological first aid and AACR.
