Hepner awarded Theta Chi scholarship

Leah Hepner, a Slippery Rock University freshman public health major from Shamokin Dam, was awarded the Resolute Man Scholarship by the Theta Chi SRU Chapter Alumni Board in honor of military veterans and prisoners of war.

Open to all SRU students, the Theta Chi Alumni Board choses the recipient of the $500 scholarship based on applicants' answers to open-ended questions about their academic and vocational plans; community service and leadership qualities; and ability to overcome adversity.

Hepner was recognized as the 2019 recipient at the Sept. 21 SRU football game.
