SRU engineering programs receive ABET accreditation

Two of Slippery Rock University’s engineering programs, industrial system engineering and petroleum and natural gas engineering, received accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology on Aug. 31.

SRU’s programs were accredited for the maximum length of six years, extending retroactively to ISE and PNGE students who graduated in the past two years. In a statement from ABET, the programs received recognition for “outstanding student focus,” and “unique recruiting and retention emphasis on students from within SRU’s regional market.”
