Five SRU safety management majors receive scholarships from ASSP

Five Slippery Rock University students and alumni received scholarships from the American Society of Safety Professionals Foundation.

  • Samuel Miloser, a 2023 SRU graduate with a degree in safety management, received the ASSP Foundation Board of Trustees Scholarship, a $1,000 award in honor of Mary Goranson.
  • Ashley Collura, a senior safety management major from Carnegie, received the ASSP Foundation Scholarship, a $6,000 award funded by Amazon.
  • Benjamin Sullivan, a senior safety management major from Pittsburgh, received the ASSP Foundation Scholarship, a $6,000 award funded by Amazon.
  • Thomas Koraido, a 2023 SRU graduate with a degree in safety management, received the ASSP Foundation Scholarship, a $2,000 award funded by the ASSP Western Pennsylvania Chapter.
  • Sophia Naugle, a senior safety management major from Homer City, received the ASSP Foundation Board of Trustees Scholarship, a $1,000 award in honor of David Natalizia.

Since 1990, the ASSP has awarded almost $6 million in scholarships and educational grants to universities across the country. This year, the ASSP's foundation awarded 106 scholarships and professional education grants ranging from $500 to $15,000 to recipients demonstrating leadership, professional excellence and integrity.
