SRU earns validation for cybersecurity program from the National Security Agency

Slippery Rock University’s cybersecurity program has been validated by the National Security Agency for a National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Program. The NSA awards designations to institutions that commit to producing cybersecurity professionals who will reduce vulnerabilities to national infrastructure.
SRU has met the NSA’s curriculum standards for its cybersecurity program with secure software development concentration. SRU joins the 374 colleges and universities in the nation with CAE-CD designation, and the University can apply for re-designation in 2028.
The NSA is a national-level intelligence agency of the U.S. Department of Defense that leads the U.S. government in cryptology, which includes signals intelligence insights and cybersecurity products and services.
