SRU receives accreditation from PA Chiefs of Police Association

Slippery Rock University’s Police Department has recently become fully accredited by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.

For 14 months, University Police reviewed and revised more than 90 policies and procedures in order to be in compliance. This past May, the final assessors came to campus for two days and reviewed the department’s policies and procedures.

The PA Chiefs of Police Association is a professional organization of more than 1,000 chiefs of police and other executives of police, public safety and private law enforcement organizations across Pennsylvania. Since introducing its accreditation program in 2001, the association has accredited more than 145 Pennsylvania agencies.
