Jones recognized for poetry at Sigma Tau Delta conference

Isabella Jones, a Slippery Rock University senior secondary education-English major from Erie, won second place in the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention’s Isabel Sparks President’s Awards, given to the best presentations by active student members of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society.

Jones took second place in the “Common Reader: Dear Martin by Nic Stone” category for presenting her poetry collection, “Memoir of a Mulatto Girl,” at the conference in Atlanta earlier this month. She received a $400 cash prize.
