Hicks appointed to Slippery Rock Borough Council

John Hicks, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of secondary education and foundations of education, was recently named to the Slippery Rock Borough Council. Hicks serves on both the zoning and intergovernmental committees by working with the mayor, zoning officer and borough police. The seven-member council helps plan and improve the borough’s budget, as well as managing intergovernmental relations, streets and zoning.

A resident of the borough since 2008 and from 1973-87, Hicks filled a vacancy on the council after a previously elected council member left the borough.
