March 12, 2021
Brittany Nwachuku, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of public health and social work, conducted a presentation at the Northwest Regional Equity Conference for Higher Education, a virtual conference hosted by Clark College. Nwachuku’s presentation, titled “Social Justice and Anti-Racism in Social Work Pedagogy: A Call to Acton for Social Work Educators,” was about social work educators encouraging students to become involved with social justice movements, while also cultivating a space for students to focus on their own self-development and engagement. The conference is geared toward educators, administrators and other professionals and individuals across the nation who would like to broaden their social justice knowledge or remove institutional barriers for historically underrepresented populations.
