Two Slippery Rock University faculty members from the Department of Communication will present at upcoming national conferences.

Nick Artman and Brittany Fleming, both assistant professors of communication, will be co-panelists at the Broadcast Education Association Annual Convention, April 7, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They will discuss partnerships with Quality Matters, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for online courses and program certification. The BEA is an academic media professional organization and its annual convention attracts more than 1,200 educators and students from more than 400 schools.

Artman will also present at the Popular Culture Association National Conference, April 17, in Washington, D.C. His presentation, "Push to Pull: Increasing Brand Loyalty for Citizens of the Mobile Village," will offer insights about how advertising changes with modern technology, such as analytics that target consumers based on search engine history and geography. The PCA is a group of more than 3,000 scholars and enthusiasts who study popular culture, host thousands of academic oral presentations and contribute to the PCA's two journals, Journal of American Culture and The Journal of Popular Culture.
