David Skeele, a Slippery Rock University professor of theatre, will have his work featured in "The Best Women's Stage Monologues 2019," an anthology of the best playwriting from the 2018-19 theatrical season. The book, to be released this fall, will be published by Smith and Kraus.

Skeele's play, "Becky and the Magic Harp," was selected by the book's editors for inclusion. The one-person play tells the story of a daycare worker who, with no one to confide in but her preschool students at story time, turns her desolate love life into an elaborate fairy tale.

This is the first time "Becky and the Magic Harp" will be published. The play debuted at SRU's "Brave New Plays" program last year with Deanna Brookens, SRU assistant professor of theatre, playing the lead role.
