SRU cheerleading squad places at nationals

The Slippery Rock University cheerleading squad competed at the 2019 Universal Cheerleaders Association/Universal Dance Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships, Jan. 18-20, in Orlando, Florida.

SRU placed third out of 12 teams in the Small Coed Division II category and fourth out of 14 teams in the Open All Girl category.

Each year, nearly 5,000 athletes compete at the event, which is hosted at The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and televised on ESPN and ESPN2.
