Helmick receives PMEA's Citation of Excellence

Jonathan Helmick, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of music, was awarded the 2018-19 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Citation of Excellence, representing PMEA's District 5.

The Citation of Excellence is presented by PMEA, the professional organization for music education in Pennsylvania, on a four-year rotation between categories that include elementary, middle/junior high school, high school and any level of education, including college. The award recognizes individuals who have made lasting contributions in their area of music education.

Recipients will be recognized in April at the 2019 PMEA/National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference.
