Tours conducts early childhood workshops in India

Sara Tours, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of elementary education and early childhood, consulted and led workshops in Bangalore, India, Jan. 9-18.

Tours worked with teachers and staff at the Kara4Kids Early Learning Center, a preschool in Bangalore, consulting them about learning strategies for their students, before hosting a workshop for families of Kara4Kids students about parenting in the 21st century. Tours also spoke to nearby high school students who were interested in teacher education.

Tours traveled to India as part of the Pennsylvania India Higher Education Initiative, a program sponsored by Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education which supports Pennsylvania universities as a destination in the U.S. for student exchange, technology transfer and faculty development.
