SRU's student media convergence efforts profiled in MediaShift

Two Slippery Rock University communication professors were recently published on MediaShift, a website that offers insight and analysis about the media and technology industries.

Mark Zeltner, associate professor, and Brittany Fleming, assistant professor, shared how SRU is in the process of converging its student media: The Rocket, the independent, student-run newspaper; and WSRU-TV, the student-run television broadcast and video production company.

SRU recently renamed its journalism major "converged journalism" to reflect the industry-wide trend that is seeing professionals having to create multimedia content as outlets merge their print, digital and broadcast platforms.
