SRU music students, faculty travel to New Mexico for field experience

A group of students and faculty representing Slippery Rock University’s Music Department recently attended the New Mexico Music Educators Association’s All-State Music Festival and In-Service Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also, while in New Mexico, they taught music classes at Santa Fe Public Schools and the Santa Fe Indian School as part of an ongoing partnership through SRU’s Field Experience Immersion in Music class.

Participants from SRU included Kathy Melago, professor of music; Jonathan Helmick, associate professor of music; Emily Eastman, a senior music education major from Centerville; Isaiah Greenawalt, a senior music education major from Scottdale; Michael LaBella, a senior music education major from Glenshaw; and Jacob Pallo a senior music education major from Sharpsville.
