Groups representing Slippery Rock University helped local families by participating in the Elf Project, organized by SRU's offices of Community-Engaged Learning and Global Engagement. The Elf Project is a collaboration with the Butler Salvation Army and its Angel Tree program to help families in need by providing gifts for their children during the holiday season. The groups sponsored a child and purchased gifts that were collected in the Smith Student Center on Dec. 2. There were 56 children who benefited from this project.
