SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Editors of the Princeton Review have named Slippery Rock University one of the best colleges in its region for 2025. SRU was one of 97 institutions that appeared on Princeton Review's "Best Mid-Atlantic" list in the 2025 Best Colleges: Region by Region Guide.

Only about a quarter of the nation's four-year colleges earn the distinction of "regional best" from the Princeton Review editors, who consider these schools "academically outstanding and well worth consideration in your college search."

The Princeton Review does not rank the schools on its Best Colleges: Region by Region Guide. Schools are listed alphabetically and grouped into seven zones -- Northeast, South, Southwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, West and International. The Mid-Atlantic region consists of five states -- Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia -- and the District of Columbia.

The recognition is based on the Princeton Review's ratings in eight categories that come from surveys of administrators at the schools who annually provide institutional data.

The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep and college admission services company and is not affiliated with Princeton University. The complete listing of the "Best Mid-Atlantic" institutions is available on the Princeton Review website.
