SRU’s Cyberspace Event returns Nov. 26
Slippery Rock University’s Center for Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing annual Cyberspace event returns Nov. 26, with guest speaker Randall Trzeciak.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, cyber security related jobs are expected to grow 33% by 2033. Slippery Rock University is providing a glance at the issues cybersecurity professionals are facing as part of its Cyberspace Event, 12:30-2 p.m., Nov. 26, at the Smith Student Center Ballroom.
This free event, also available on Zoom, is open to the public and sponsored by SRU's Center for Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing, as well as SRU's College of Engineering and Science and the Computer Science Department.
Alongside talks from cybersecurity experts, current SRU students will present scenarios, live software demonstrations and applications to address cybersecurity threats and challenges.
For those wishing to attend virtually, the online registration form must be completed to receive a Zoom link.
This year's guest speaker is Randall Trzeciak, who is a principal researcher and deputy director of the Cyber Risk and Resilience Directorate in the Computer Emergency Response Teams Division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He's also the director of the CERT National Insider Threat Center.. With more than 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, Trzeciak specializes in improving organizations' security and incident response capabilities by conducting information security assessments and providing training on preventing, detecting and responding to cyber threats.
