The Slippery Rock University community gathered in the Quad at 4 p.m., Nov. 2 for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims of the Oct. 27 Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh. Eleven people were killed and six others, including four police officers, were injured. One of the injured was Officer Anthony Burke, a 2013 SRU graduate. He is expected to make a full recovery.
