The Slippery Rock Student Government Association Student Art Gallery hosted a reception for the opening of Erikka Spaid's "Dreamscapes" exhibition Oct. 24. Spaid, a senior art major from Coalport, uses the shapes that appear in her dreams and visions to create her works. "When I paint, my dreams are landforms of mountainous forms and atmospheres," said Spaid. "Using texture on surface, I create paintings of a surreal world in my studio, using various techniques like pallet knife painting, stippling and blending." Her exhibition is on display through Nov. 2. The gallery is located in Room 204 of the University Union.
