SRU’s online master’s in data analytics ranked as one of the country’s best

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University's online master's degree in data analytics has been ranked as one of the top 25 best actuarial science programs in the country by Best Masters Programs for 2021.
BMP is an independent online guide for students to find the best online master's degree programs by offering rankings and reviews of programs from a variety of potential career interests.
The rankings were compiled by BMP editors based on value and return for working professionals and career-changing adult students with data collected from Niche and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. Other factors include cost, reputation and potential salary earnings.
SRU is the only institution from Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education school to make the list, ranking at No. 21.
SRU's program prepares students to use data analysis methods, use predictive modeling, maintain data security and communicate effectively with constituents. Graduates of the program receive both a master of science from SRU and professional certificate from the SAS Institute for Advanced Analytics.
SAS is one of the most widely used software platforms in the world for performing data analytics and statistical analysis. SRU is one of only 56 institutions in the U.S. offering the SAS certificate. Additionally, the program prepares graduates to take the Certified Analytics Professional exam administered by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
The 33-credit hour program can be completed in 10 months full-time or two years part-time and is offered fully online.
