Nearly 170 students from 22 high schools in western Pennsylvania participated in the World Language Competition, Oct. 9 at Slippery Rock University. The event, hosted by SRU's Modern Languages and Cultures Department, challenged students with computerized language testing. Trophies were awarded for the top three scores in three levels of Spanish, French and Japanese. When the students were not testing, they participated in games and activities with students from SRU's language clubs, including a scavenger hunt around campus.
