Nearly 60 employers were at Slippery Rock University's Smith Student Center Ballroom Oct. 4 to recruit candidates for jobs and internships as part of the annual Safety Management Career and Internship Expo. Organized by SRU's Office of Career Education and Development, including lead coordinator Renee Coyne, assistant director, the expo provided an opportunity for 300 SRU students and alumni to meet and interview with employers who hire safety professionals, such as manufacturers, retailers, workers' compensation insurers, and construction, transportation and warehousing companies. According to organizers, this year's expo was the largest and most successful to date, estimating that 230 interviews either took place at the expo or were schedule for ensuing days.
