SRU earns high ranking on Niche’s list of 2025 Top Public Universities in Pennsylvania

Niche ranked Slippery Rock University the No. 4-ranked public university in state for 2025.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University is ranked No. 4 among public schools and first in Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, according to a new list released by Niche, a research company that produces an annual ranking of colleges and universities.

Niche ranked SRU behind only the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State University and Temple University on the list of 2025 Top Public Universities in Pennsylvania. The ranking is based on an analysis of academic, admissions, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, along with reviews from students and alumni.

SRU received an overall grade of "B." SRU's best category within the rankings was an A+ for dorms. SRU's residence halls were ranked No. 37 in America and No. 4 in Pennsylvania on Niche's Best Dorms lists.
