Katherine Mickle, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of art, is presenting a mixed media landscape exhibition including photography, drawing and video, entitled "Between A Rock & A Hard Place," now through Oct. 24 at the Martha Gault Art Gallery. The exhibition features Badlands formations that are contrasted through time, place, and at times, the correlation of life experiences. It continues Mickle's ongoing investigations of Badlands National Park, South Dakota. Her recent travel to other badlands sites in Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming complements and informs her past research. Inspired by those rugged terrains, Mickle "attempts to make sense of the world through her artwork." The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday.
