Members of the Slippery Rock University community came together this morning in Old Main for a short observance of Patriot Day. At 8:46 a.m. the group joined with others around the nation in observing a moment of silence to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as those who risked their own lives to save others. As part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance, Old Main staffers collected boxes of cereal at the gathering that will be donated to the Slippery Rock Student Government Association's food pantry - Bob's Market - and the Feed My Sheep Food Pantry in Slippery Rock.
