AVI Fresh, Slippery Rock University's contract food vendor, offered up its first "Pop-Up Kitchen" of the fall semester Sept. 4 at Boozel Dining Hall with a variation on an old favorite: pizza. But make no mistake, this isn't your grandpa's pizza. Gone was pepperoni, sausage and green pepper, replaced with garlic butter, fresh made sauce, slow roasted caramelized leeks, dried cherries and mozzarella cheese on house-made dough. Mmm, where's our slice?
