Slippery Rock University hosted "Welcome to SRU Day," Aug. 19, as more than 1,500 students attended New Student Convocation at Morrow Field House. This was the only gathering of all students in the Class of 2026 until commencement. There was also an opportunity for each student to attend a presentation from their respective college's dean, as well as Week of Welcome Carnival at Old Thompson Field, with live music, rides, games, prizes and carnival food. The first day of classes for the fall semester is Aug. 22.
