SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University was recognized by Money.com on its list of the Best Colleges in America for 2023. Money evaluated more than 2,400 four-year colleges in the country and selected just over 700 of those for its list based on quality, affordability and student outcomes.
Using data such as net price of a degree, loan repayment rates, median earnings, and four other "value added" calculations, Money measured a school's actual performance against its predicted performance. Money gave SRU four out of five stars in its evaluation. This is the first year that Money.com published a rating system instead of a numbered ranking.
Money experts noted that 75% of SRU students receive grants and the estimated cost of tuition for the average student receiving aid is $13,300 per year. SRU's cost of attendance per year is $22,412 for full-time undergraduates from Pennsylvania and $26,520 for out-of-state students.
