The Slippery Rock University women’s soccer team departed Pennsylvania for Costa Rica Aug. 5 to take part in a nine-day community service project and tour of the Central American country. The team will conduct youth soccer clinics in underprivileged communities; deliver donated school supplies to several children’s centers and schools; take part in a series of exhibition games – otherwise known as friendlies – against teams from the Costa Rica Women’s Soccer League; and enjoy a variety of activities, including white water rafting and a tree canopy zip line tour.
